Hazelnuts: Explosive situation in Turkey

ORDU. While customers in Europe can enjoy reasonable offers, the prospects in Turkey are anything but rosy. Market players warn that the new season involves high risks.

 

Reasonable prices

The exchange rate fluctuation in Turkey have prompted prices to drop for buyers in Europe. Prices have fallen sharply again following the increase recorded in late July/early August. Hazelnut kernels, natural, 11–13 mm, now cost 4.50 EUR/kg DDP Germany.
