ORDU. Although the season is ending next month, suppliers still have good chances to sell.

Prices drop

Many buyers are still negotiating with the suppliers. Contracts for the end of 2017 and the first quarter of 2018 are still required. With prices continuing to spiral downwards for the old crop it seems like a good time to buy. Traders reckon that the large carry-over supplies will need to be sold at even cheaper rates once the new crop arrives. Suppliers in Turkey are currently offering the new crop at higher prices. Some cheap offers are, however, available.

Large crop expected

It is still not clear in how far the TMO will support farmgate prices with purchases. The farmers, however, appear to be relatively calm indicating that they have accepted that the crop will be large (ca. 700,000 mt) and that higher farmgate prices are out of the question.
