TEHRAN. Price movements were mixed in Iran in September with barberries, dates, saffron and raisins showing the most drastic changes in the annual comparison. The market is closely following the price movements for pistachios and raisins. Almonds have taken quite a curious turn. Cumin is also showing some fluctuations.

Almonds

The EU’s fresh and dried almond imports from Iran reached 159 mt worth EUR 896,250 between 1 January and 28 September 2025 according to DG Taxud Customs Surveillance data. This presents a 74% rise in terms of volume and an 82% surge in terms of value on the 91 mt worth EUR 491,626, noted in the same period last year. Impressive as this rise is the USA presently accounts for a staggering 95% of the EU’s total imports with Iran not even in the top ten supplying countries.
