Peanuts: good export demand for oil

NEW DELHI. Although importers in China have so far refused to pay appropriate prices for peanut oil from India, this may change very soon. Other countries are actively buying.

Small crop in China

Peanut prices have started to rise again in India after remaining fixed for weeks. Oil producers are now confident that they do not have to sell at a loss. Issue are initial reports stating that production will fall short of expecations in China. Although demand for peanut oil from India is still low and importers are still only prepared to pay low prices, this should change in the next few weeks. Contrary to this, demand is up in Asia.
