Peanuts: good yields in Brazil

NEW DELHI/BRASÍLIA. The peanut harvest in Brazil is about halfway through and growers are satisfied in terms of quantity and quality. In India, prices have fallen slightly.

Price increases do not continue

After the slight increases of the past week, Indian peanut prices have now suffered a slight setback. Market experts believe that prices will remain in a relatively narrow range in the near future and that there will be no noticeable highs or lows for about two to three months. The government and other institutions that have procured peanuts in large quantities are now liquidating their goods on a tender basis. So far, however, hardly any deals have been concluded as buyers are making offers that are too low.
