NEW DELHI/JAKARTA. NAFED has released large quantities of peanuts for sale, which has prevented price increases on the Indian market. Indian importers are importing more goods from Indonesia.

175,000 mt within a month

Prices on the Indian peanut market remain stable compared to last week. The hoped-for price increases have not yet materialised, and for one simple reason: the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India, or NAFED for short, sold almost 175,000 mt of peanuts between 12 June and 12 July, thereby strongly influencing the trading dynamics. In Uttar Pradesh, NAFED has now stopped selling and started buying again. Market players say the minimum purchase amount here is supposed to be 50,000-60,000 mt.
