Peanuts: price pressure continues

NEW DELHI. While the outlook for the peanut oil market is quite encouraging, the situation is different for peanuts. Indonesia has still not lifted its import ban on Indian peanuts, but a solution is being sought.

NAFED clears stocks

Prices on the Indian peanut market remain largely stable, recording only a moderate increase of USD 10/mt compared to last week. Local market players report that domestic peanut oil prices have risen and are likely to climb further due to the Diwali celebrations this week. Government agencies such as NAFED are releasing their old stocks for sale and it appears that they now want to fully liquidate them.
