NEW DELHI/BUENOS AIRES. Prices on the Indian peanut market have fallen steadily in recent months and now have hardly any room for further declines. A record acreage is expected in Argentina, while anxious eyes are focussed on the USA.

Indian edible oil imports higher than ever

Indian peanut prices are at their lowest level in the last five years after the continuous declines of recent months, even if they were able to recover slightly by USD 10/mt this week. A small ray of hope, especially for traders in Uttar Pradesh, is the rising demand from Indonesia. Exporters are offering their goods at 5-6% below the market price to maintain demand.
