NEW DELHI/DAKAR. In India, the government is buying more peanuts from farmers, while prices on the free market continue to fall. In the West African country of Senegal, market players are quite optimistic.

Market players report that traders are currently losing out as most transactions are taking place directly between farmers and stockists, meaning that arrivals are also declining.
