Peanuts: significantly larger acreage in India

NEW DELHI/BUENOS AIRES. Sowing for the Kharif crop is currently underway in India, and the acreage is expected to be significantly larger than last year. The weather could still cause some difficulties – this also applies to Argentina and the USA.

Rainfall is a decisive factor

In India, sowing for the kharif crop is currently in full swing. In view of the low yields from competing crops and an increased minimum support price, most growing regions are reporting larger areas under cultivation.
