NEW DELHI/ATLANTA. External factors are driving the market for peanuts in India. This week’s new year celebrations are bringing trading with China and Vietnam to a standstill. Traders are closely monitoring the supply and demand situation in the USA and the weather in Brazil.

Despite showing minor hikes since the start of January, the situation is dormant for peanuts on the ground level. External factors are preventing sharp downturns. The recent announcement of the B40 policy in Indonesia, which stipulates that a minimum of 40% of palm oil should be mixed into biodiesel, also entails an increase in export tariffs.
