Pistachios: exasperating supply situation

MERSIN. Despite market conditions being highly favourable, exporters are struggling in Turkey. Dubai chocolate manufacturers are experiencing a price shock for pistachios. Turkey’s leading confectionary giant Ülker has launched its own version of the trendy snack.

Exporters are having a hard time

Conditions could not be any better for pistachio suppliers in Turkey. Not only has the country witnessed a bumper crop of 415,500 mt this year according to the latest INC estimates but global demand is also on the rise with consumers discovering the health benefits of pistachios and new products emerging. Yet, exporters are struggling.
