SOFIA. Sowing has been temporarily suspended due to rain. Although low prices are currently keeping the market up and running, the producers are pushing for a shift.

Black in-shells with a 96% purity are currently trading at EUR 0.311 per kg CPT Varna. Large producers and traders are, however, holding back to be prepared for the anticipated rise in demand.

Low prices boost sales

Bakery kernels are also trading nominally lower and buyers are seizing the opportunity to refill their stocks. In addition to the rise in release orders for contracted kernels, suppliers are reporting a rising number of enquiries for prompt delivery. The first factories are, however, slowly but surely reaching their limits, which is made worse by the fact that the coronavirus has prompted a cut back in processing. Shipments are delayed.
