Dried apricots: export prices are increasing

MALATYA. Although the Turkish lira continues to decline in value, higher farmgate prices are able to support export prices. Export volumes are lower than last season.

Farmgate prices almost doubled year-on-year

According to reports from Turkish market players, the market is currently very quiet. The Turkish lira continues to lose value and concerns about a financial crisis in Turkey are increasing. Nevertheless, export prices have increased slightly compared to last week, mainly due to higher farmgate prices. Dried apricots, no. 3 and no. 4, which are the most popular varieties, are currently traded at TRY 20-25/kg - almost twice as high as in the same period last season, when prices were only TRY 13-15/kg.
