MANISA. Rumour has it that the TMO will start selling raisins and other dried fruit soon. Exports still, however, fall well short of last year.

Export volumes range lower than last year

Turkey's export perfomance falls well short of the same time last year. At 3,532 mt, last week's overseas shipments ranged 10% below the same period last year. Turkey has exported 103,176 mt of seedless dried raisins since the start of the season, which is a 13% decline on last season. Since production is smaller it is to be expected that end-of-season stocks will mainly be fed by TMO supplies. The state-owned organisation has purchased an estimated 70,000-100,000 mt.
