AYDIN. Commodity prices are rising and farmers are relieved about the normalisation of temperatures in the growing regions. Good news also comes from exporters.

Snow and rain expected

Market players in Turkey report rising farmgate prices; at the commodity exchange in Aydin dried figs are traded between TRY 20 and 35/kg, depending on the variety. Rain and snow are expected in the growing areas in the coming week and farmers are happy that the previously far too warm temperatures seem to be over for the time being. The exchange rate is currently 1 Euro to 8.99 Turkish Lira. Dried figs, Lerida, no 4 variety are trading at USD 4,600/mt FOB Izmir, offers for organic figs start at USD 6,066/mt.
