Almonds: first cautious crop forecasts published

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) published the acreage data for this year's US almond crop at the end of last week. These give hope for a good result.

New record crop is unlikely

Thanks to a steadily growing acreage, California's almond production has the potential to achieve a good crop even after a very productive year like 2020, as long as the approaching drought does not massively harm the trees. This year, about 1.33 million acres of US almond trees are expected to bear fruit, up from 1.25 million acres last year.
