AYDIN. Conditions in the growing areas are good and producers expect the trees to set fruit soon. Exports also continue to be very satisfactory.

Demand continues to rise

Turkish market players are very satisfied with the continued increase in demand and exporters have their hands full working off their orders. There is also good news from the farmers: They report that weather conditions in the growing areas are favourable and fruit set should develop in the next few days. Farmgate prices continue to fluctuate between TRY 25 and 30/kg, while export prices vary significantly depending on the supplier. Dried figs, Lerida, no 2 cost around USD 5,250/mt FOB Izmir.
