AYDIN. Market players report good weather conditions in the growing regions. However, fruit formation is expected to be delayed due to the cool night temperatures.

Fruiting may not start until June

According to market players, the cool night temperatures are likely to delay the fruiting of fig trees until June, which in turn could result in a later start to the 2021/2022 export season. Apart from that, there is talk of favourable weather conditions, but it is still too dry at higher altitudes, where rain is urgently needed. Otherwise, the lack of moisture could have a negative impact on the yield.
