Pecans: exports to Asia increase by 70%

ATLANTA. Both domestic and export demand in the US have increased significantly compared to the previous season. For most a reason to rejoice - only the farmers are not that happy yet.

Imports push commodity prices down

Pecan producers in the USA are still satisfied. The high demand continues, so that deliveries have increased by a good 27% year-on-year since the beginning of the season. However, the American Pecan Council (APC) also reports that the good figures have not yet been reflected in farmgate prices, so that farmers have not yet benefited from the positive situation.
