CHICAGO/PARIS. Market and price trends with first trade assessments. The wheat harvest has started in the USA and in Russia, spring wheat cultivation is increasing. Agreste has updated the acreage estimats. Ukrainian corn exports are declining.

Wheat: Russia increases spring wheat cultivation

In the US, wheat harvest has started in Texas and North Carolina. The US trade expects the 2021/22 US wheat crop to increase by 0.9% to 1.89 billion bushels from the USDA forecast in May. Looking at Russia, according to analyst SovEcon, the spring wheat sown area will reach 13.7 million ha due to reseeding in central regions of the country, close to the record level of 2016.
