DALIAN. Chinese buyers are still delighted at the good demand for pumpkin seed kernels, which left a lot to be desired in the last months.

Buyers are using the low price level to cover themselves. Contracts are entered mainly for shipments in the new year.

Things are in motion
According to traders, prices will continue to increase but it is not expected to be much anymore. No one wants to take the risk of having prospective buyers changing their minds because of unattractive prices. Depending on the seller, prices can vary decidedly. Some are maintaining last week’s level, other have sold their supplies and have to recalculate using the current raw material prices before making an offer. The better sales work out now, the more likely it is that farmers will still want to grow enough pumpkin seed kernels in the next year.
