BEIJING. The New Year will be celebrated in China next week and many factories have already stopped work in preparation. After the holidays, market players hope for falling freight costs.

Factories stop work

The Chinese pumpkin seed market is becoming increasingly quiet in the course of the Chinese New Year holidays, which are celebrated at the beginning of February. Most factories have already stopped work and the raw material trade is at a standstill. Accordingly, prices for Chinese pumpkin seeds are unchanged compared to last week. As the market will also remain largely closed in the coming week due to the festivities, no price corrections are to be expected. In the second week of February, trading should slowly come to life again.
