DALIAN. Chinese market players expect speculators to raise their commodity prices for shine skins once again. In the run-up to the Lunar Festival, domestic demand is expected to pick up significantly.

New offer on Wednesday

Farmgate prices in the shine skin market continue to stubbornly maintain their high level of CNY 19.6/kg, but Chinese traders fear that price increases will occur this week. Speculators, who hold the major part of the remaining goods from the old crop, are due to make a new offer on Wednesday (20/07) and estimates suggest it is likely to be around CNY 19.8-20.0/kg.
