DALIAN. Farmgate prices for new crop shine skins are on par with those for the old crop. The upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival is fuelling demand and much of the crop is still in the fields.

High prices in the coming weeks

The harvest of Chinese pumpkin seeds is expected to continue until the end of the month, but new crop goods are already arriving on the markets. As expected by market players, farmgate prices for new crop shine skins are relatively high at CNY 18/kg, in line with the prices for goods from the old crop in recent weeks. Traders justify the prices on the one hand with the fact that there is not yet enough new product available, and on the other hand with the high demand in the course of the upcoming Moon Festival.
