DALIAN. Demand for shine skins has increased in the run-up to Chinese New Year and, as every year, speculators are taking advantage of the situation. They have a large proportion of the goods and are currently holding them back in order to drive up prices.

Chinese New Year drives up prices

As expected by market players, shine skin prices on the Chinese pumpkin seed market have risen since last week. Demand from overseas has increased and buyers in the Chinese domestic market are also stocking up, as the Chinese New Year is celebrated on 10 February this year and consumption usually increases significantly at this time.
