BEIJING. Lack of demand is putting pressure on the Chinese pumpkin seed market, as traders rely on sales. Therefore, there are price corrections. So far, however, the hoped-for effect has failed to take place.

Enquiries remain absent

The Chinese pumpkin seed market is coming under pressure due to the lack of demand. Farmgate prices have stabilised at a level of CNY 18-18.2/kg and there are sufficient goods available. This is at least the case in the shine skin market. However, the overall very high farmgate and especially export prices this year reduce the buying interest the domestic and export markets.
