DALIAN. Various circumstances ensure that the Chinese pumpkin seed market will not see any price declines in the near future. The GWS market in particular faces major challenges in 2023.

No incentive for growers

For several weeks now, Chinese pumpkin seed prices have been holding their level, and this week is no exception; neither commodity nor export prices show any changes. Demand is decidedly weak in both the domestic and export markets, which would normally lead to a drop in prices. The fact that this is not happening suggests that there is very little product left in the market - this is especially true for GWS kernels.
