DALIAN. Rising Covid infections in northwest China are causing the pumpkin harvest to be delayed by about a week. Speculation about prices, however, is already in full swing.

New crop will soon be available

Harvesting has started in the Chinese growing regions, but is delayed by about a week in the northwest of the country due to increasing Covid infections. Nevertheless, the first seeds of the new crop should reach the markets soon. Farmgate prices for the new crop are still unclear, but market players estimate them at CNY 18-18.5/kg.
