BEIJING. After prices had risen due to numerous speculative purchases, buyers are now following a new tactic. The most preferred kernels are still shine skins.

Farmgate prices to decline

At the end of September it became known that some speculators, who usually operate in the garlic market among others, had intervened in the pumpkin seed market by placing speculative purchases. Chinese traders now report that these purchases have been stopped for the time being due to the high prices.
