Pumpkin seeds: subdued trading

DALIAN. Suppliers in China are having a hard time finding buyers for pumpkin seeds. Issue is that most exporters are well stocked. Prices have, however, remained high as supplies are limited.

Hardly any long-term contracts

Trading is very much subded for pumpkin seeds in China at present as export and domestic demand are low. Most exporters have enough stocks at their disposal to meet existing contracts and only few long-term contracts are being entered. Trouble, however, is that supplies are limited and that speculators hold large volumes meaning that prices will certainly remain high. GWS kernel supplies are particularly limited and the new crop will only arrive in five months.
