DALIAN. As suppliers need to fill their stocks as quickly as possible in order to meet their contracts, prices in the shine skin market have continued to increase. Traders hope that the market for GWS kernels will soon follow suit.

High demand drives prices up

Farmgate prices on the shine skin market have once again increased slightly compared to last week and are now at CNY 18/kg. Chinese market players see the main reason for the steady price increases in recent weeks in the fact that most suppliers do not have enough goods in stock to fulfil their existing contracts.
