Pumpkin seeds: supply meets demand

DALIAN. Although there are only small stocks left in Chinese pumpkin seed warehouses, supply should cover demand until the start of the new season. Prices are currently moving in different directions.

Good crop in prospect

Commodity prices are holding steady for the time being in both the Chinese shine skin and GWS markets. After checking all public pumpkin seed storage facilities in China, it is clear that about 10,000 mt of shine skins are still stored there. It is not possible to say exactly how much product is still in the private warehouses of traders, but estimates are around 5,000 mt, which would correspond to a total available quantity of 15,000 mt of shine skins. In contrast, there are significantly fewer GWS kernels available, the latest estimates here
