Pumpkin seeds: tense waiting for the speculators

DALIAN. About half of the shine skin raw material supplies are currently in the warehouses of Chinese speculators; traders are eagerly waiting to see when and at what prices they will be offered for sale. Meanwhile, GWS kernels and shine skins are showing different price trends.

Farmgate prices decline

The shine skin market has seen a decline in farmgate prices in recent days, which are now at CNY 17.5/kg. This does not leave export prices unaffected. In addition, Chinese market players report that buying interest both domestic and overseas remains very restrained. Although traders expect that if demand remains weak, commodity prices could reach a level of CNY 16.5/kg, more significant declines are not expected at this time.
