DALIAN. There is currently hardly any demand on the pumpkin seed market, so many Chinese suppliers are reducing their margins in order to be able to lower prices. Market players expect significant price declines from April onwards.

The shine skin market continues to show stability with only nominal price fluctuations and there is no change in farmgate prices; they remain at CNY 17.8/kg. Chinese suppliers say it is a tough time as there is hardly any demand. This applies to both the domestic and export markets. Some suppliers are currently reducing their margins in order to be able to lower prices. They hope to land some orders with this, but so far with moderate success.
