DALIAN. After the Chinese New Year celebrations, trading on the pumpkin seed market is only slowly picking up again. Speculators are likely to soon resort to their usual tricks to drive up prices.

Suppliers need to replenish stocks

The Chinese New Year celebrations have brought the pumpkin seed market to a virtual standstill over the past two weeks. Commodity trade is only slowly getting back on track and should normalise over the coming days. This is also reflected in prices - raw material prices are largely unchanged and export prices have also risen only slightly in recent weeks. All available stocks are now in the warehouses of speculators. They are currently not making good profits and will try to push prices up artificially by holding back their goods.
