Pumpkin seeds: virtually no new long-term contracts

DALIAN. As expected, commodity prices have settled at last week's level and the focus is set on the new crop. For this reason, contracts are almost entirely concluded for prompt shipments.

More reliable forecasts at the end of May

As Chinese market players had suspected last week, farmgate prices for shine skins have settled at their low level and are ranging between CNY 16.2 and 16.4/kg. There are still large quantities of the 2021 crop on the market, and with sowing for the new crop already in full swing, there are unlikely to be any timely price increases. So far, opinions on the new crop are still differing; as soon as sowing is completed at the end of May, the first more reliable forecasts should emerge.
