NEW DELHI/BRASÍLIA. The tender win is not having the desired effect on sesame seed prices in the Indian market. China and Japan are increasing their imports. The FETHAB tax has recently been added to sesame seeds in Brazil.

10,000 mt tender cannot stabilise prices

Indian sesame seed traders are disillusioned. The past tender from South Korea was covered in its entirety by Indian exporters, with suppliers winning the tender for a total quantity of 10,000 mt. As a result, market players were certain that prices on the Indian sesame seed market would rise after having moved steadily downwards in recent months.
