NEW DELHI. Despite low chances of success, Indian exporters are stocking up on sesame seeds for the coming tender. Meanwhile, further good production results are expected in India later in the season.

Tender boosts domestic demand

At the beginning of July, another tender is to take place, through which the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation wants to acquire 15,000 mt of sesame seeds. Although Indian market players believe that they have little chance of success due to the higher prices in international comparison, it is domestic demand from traders and retail chains that continues to support prices in the Indian sesame seed market. It can be reckoned that some exporters are stocking up as a precaution in case of a successful tender participation. I
