Sesame seeds: India increases exports

NEW DELHI/ABUJA. India's sesame seed exports increased significantly in October compared to the year as a whole, but prices have also risen. Harvests are just beginning in West African origins and the goods should soon be available on the market.

Nigeria secures tender deliveries

Contrary to expectations, Indian sesame seed exporters were once again left empty-handed at the last tender. Instead, South Korea bought around 2,700 mt of sesame seeds from Nigeria at prices between USD 2,099 and 2,150/mt, while a further 600 mt will be delivered by Pakistani exporters, who were able to score with offers of USD 2,124-2,129/mt. Last week, the search by Indian exporters for exportable goods had driven up prices in the domestic market.
