NEW DELHI. There is still no sign of a firming of prices in the Indian sesame seed market. Despite tender sales, demand is missing, which puts pressure on prices. Market players are pinning their hopes on the new crop.

Another downward correction

Indian sesame seed traders have been hoping for a rising price trend for a long time, but this has not yet materialised. Despite regular successful tender participations for sesame seed shipments to South Korea, domestic and foreign buying interest has remained limited. As a result, sesame seed prices have fallen again this week.
