Sesame seeds: prices show long-awaited turnaround

NEW DELHI. Indian sesame seed traders had expected a rising price trend much earlier, but it was only in recent weeks that it actually took place. This week, too, sesame seed prices increased once again.

Less black sesame seeds

Market players are optimistic that regular price adjustments will happen in the next two months. This expectation is based on the upcoming holidays in India, but foreign demand is also expected to increase when the new crop is available on the market. Exporters are therefore currently diligently stocking up on goods in order to be able to generate higher profits in the event of a price increase.
