Sesame seeds: strict EU requirements lead to price adjustments

NEW DELHI. Due to stricter EU requirements, Indian sesame traders cannot avoid adjusting their export prices. Meanwhile, traders also focus on the domestic demand for seeds for the 2021 summer crop.

Containers can be returned

Indian sesame seed exporters who are willing and able to deliver goods of the required quality to the EU are very accommodating, at least up front. Order processing involves testing the batch intended for the customer for ethylene oxide and other pesticides, and if the guidelines are met, the goods are being shipped. The cargo is only paid for when it is released at the port of destination.
