NEW DELHI. Indian exporters are confident about their participation in the current sesame seed tender from South Korea; there seems to be hardly any competition.

Price trend only temporary despite tender

The current tender from South Korea has boosted trade in the Indian sesame seed market. This is also reflected in prices, which have risen slightly compared to last week. Around 12,000 mt of sesame seeds are to be purchased via the tender and, as with the previous tender, Indian exporters can currently benefit from the geopolitical tensions on the Suez Canal, in addition to the fact that sesame seed stocks in Pakistan are running low and the country is currently not a major competitor.
