NEW DELHI. Indian exporters are preparing for the upcoming sesame seed tender, while weather forecasts could still put a spanner in the good crop prospects.

High demand causes prices to rise

Indian sesame seeds continue their upward trend this week, with prices rising both in domestic trade markets and for export. Stocks are running low and just enough sesame seeds are arriving on the trade markets for local traders to be able to absorb these quantities.

At the same time, Indian exporters are again hoping to participate in the sesame seed tender. South Korea plans to buy about 7,500 mt of sesame seeds through the upcoming tender; the bids submitted will be evaluated on 19 April. As a precauti
