Sultanas: Decline in production turns market upside down

MANISA. Disappointing results in production, in such important origins such as California lead customers to look into alternatives such as Chile and South Africa.

It remains to be seen, if processors alter their recipes, to use instead of Thompson raisins Turkish sultanas, too. Offers for Californian raisins are circulating in the market between 3,150-3,350 USD/mt CFR EMP; Turkish Thompson raisins cost at least 2,600-2,800 USD/mt FOB Izmir. 

Exports are showing signs of weakness
