Sultanas: export volume cannot keep up

MANISA. This year's Christmas business is not bringing Turkish sultana exporters the usual turnover, at least not in terms of export volumes. Meanwhile, market developments in the second half of the season are as reliable as looking into a crystal ball.

Exports down by more than 23,000 mt

Even in the final days of the Christmas season, there is little activity on the Turkish sultana market. The high prices are slowing down buying interest and spot transactions, while many buyers have turned to alternative origins. Nevertheless, the current weather conditions are helping to improve the prospects for the 2025 crop. Sufficient rainfall and cooler temperatures are benefiting the vines.
