MANISA. The drying period has ended in Manisa. Growers prefer to sell to the TMO and Tariş. The supply of organic sultanas is lower than previously expected.

Low trading activity

Autumn is arriving in Manisa. This week, daily temperatures in the Turkish province are not expected to exceed 23-25°C, and the accompanying rain showers are a welcome change after the hot and dry summer.

The drying period has now been completed. Since last Monday, the TMO has also been accepting sultana deliveries. For growers, the purchase prices offered by the TMO and Tariş are much more attractive, which is why many prefer to sell their raw materials to state organisations rather than on the free market.
