Sultanas: hoping for Anuga boost

MANISA. Question is in how far the Anuga food and beverage fair in Cologne will help to boost demand for Turkey’s sultana raisins. The TMO is still buying and harvesting is still in full swing in Manisa's Sarıgöl district. Exports have no chance of catching up with last year.

TMO still buying

As many dried fruit processors and exporters are attending the Anuga this week, the market is calm. Demand has been poor so far and question is what the outcome of the meetings between buyers and exporters at the fair will be. With a deadline not set yet the TMO is still buying and will probably continue purchasing until the end of December. Type 9 sultana raisins have settled at TRY 105-110/kg.
