MANISA. After the devastating frost nights in April, Turkish dried fruit traders have not made any general offers. Meanwhile, some market players expect sultana production to be significantly lower than the figures published during the INC Congress.

High prices at the start of the week

The Turkish market got off to a somewhat sluggish start to the new week due to public holidays. Growers continue to hold back their raw materials, unwilling to part with their stocks at the current prices of TRY 95-110/kg. Meanwhile, exporters are reporting that there is hardly any demand from overseas anyway, with offers only being made to regular customers. Export prices for type 9 sultanas are now around USD 3,400-3,500/mt FOB Izmir, compared to USD 2,950-3,200/mt FOB before the devastating agricultural frosts in April. Prices
